Getting Started with Base Management

Begin your journey in Space Colony by establishing basic mining bases in the designated area. To manage your bases, click on the rooms you wish to manipulate. A whiteboard will appear, displaying an image of the room along with an icon of black hammers and a gray wrench. Clicking this icon allows you to repair your base. However, instead of upgrading, you’ll be redirected to a list of other apartments. Select the base you want to build, and follow the basic operating instructions provided. Initially, with limited funds, you’ll only have access to a small car.

Building and Expanding Your Base

Once you’ve chosen your car, a cellar will emerge from underground, and your selected vehicle will exit from it. Afterward, the cellar will sink back into the ground, returning to its original state. The game allows you to expand your operations by building bases across multiple planets. The vast space map features planets arranged in straight lines, with Earth as your starting point. Complete missions to unlock new planets, each with unique terrain and mineral resources. Mining and construction methods vary depending on the region.

Managing Resources and Upgrades

When your white space shuttle docks, assess the status of your mining operations. If your economy is thriving, use your earnings to construct additional buildings and upgrade your mines. By holding down on a task, a menu will appear with a ’split’ option. If you have sufficient funds and resources, you can clone your base. Use your earnings to upgrade mines, which will change in appearance with each upgrade. These upgrades also reduce the time required to process minerals and increase your profits. Over time, this becomes an efficient way to grow your wealth.

Exploring Diverse Planets

As mentioned earlier, the game features up to 16 unique planets, each with distinct terrain and weather conditions. For example, Earth has green lawns and brown dirt trails, while the Moon is characterized by arid gray sand and cylindrical rocks. On the planet Charlico, you’ll find a magical purple landscape with hexagonal green gemstones. To travel between planets, click on the cosmic black hole area with blue lights located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Mining Tools and Equipment

Mining is a challenging task that requires specialized tools and machinery. Space Colony provides a variety of mining support devices for different stages of the process. These include cranes and excavators in colors like orange, red, and gray. The fleet of mineral transport vehicles is equally diverse, ranging from small white cargo vans to larger self-driving models with gray fronts and red lines. The spaceship used for interplanetary cargo transport is black with green accents. Each vehicle comes at a different price point.

Training Your Crew and Research

Train your team of astronauts to handle mining operations efficiently, even in your absence. The game features four logistics centers, each specializing in different tasks, and five research centers dedicated to discovering rare gems. Watch as your crew moves in organized rows from one location to another. For example, on Mars, they’ll navigate through the planet’s intense heat.
