My Hotpot Story: Build and Manage Your Dream Restaurant
Starting Your Journey as a Chef
At the start of the game, you step into the shoes of a newly trained chef with a small amount of capital. Your first task is to rent an old, abandoned restaurant from a previous owner whose business went bankrupt. The place is in disarray, with old wooden tables and chairs scattered around, rotting paintings on the walls, and papers, cups, and dishes littering the floor. However, the restaurant still has some usable tools, giving you a head start. The space is divided into two main areas: the kitchen and the main dining area. Cleaning the main shop costs 350 coins, while the kitchen requires 200 coins.
Running the Restaurant
Your primary job is to serve customers who come to dine. When a guest sits at a table, a sticky note appears for you to record their order. You then head to the kitchen, where bowls of spices and ingredients are laid out on the table. Select the required ingredients, add them to the pot, and wait for the dish to cook. Once ready, serve the dish to the customer and wait for them to finish eating. After they’re done, a white broom icon appears on the table. Clicking it automatically cleans the table, leaving the dishes and utensils sparkling clean.
Customizing Your Restaurant
As the owner of a hotpot restaurant, you have the freedom to design the space according to your preferred style. You can opt for an ancient Chinese theme, featuring a domed shop with quaint white walls and a signboard displaying Chinese text. Alternatively, you can choose a modern European style with light yellow glass windows, allowing diners to enjoy the street view while eating. For a Japanese-inspired look, replace the dining tables and chairs with low tables, add wooden sliding doors, and decorate with bonsai pots for a serene atmosphere.
Expanding Your Business
Once your hotpot restaurant gains popularity, you can invest in expensive upgrades and introduce new concepts like a buffet-style hotpot shop. Install a conveyor belt in the center of the restaurant to display dishes, allowing customers to pick what they want. Hire additional staff to handle the increased workload and ensure quick service. A key NPC in the game is a big, fat chef in a white shirt who provides guidance and helps you integrate into the bustling environment.
The Heart of the Restaurant: The Kitchen
The kitchen is the core of your restaurant, where new recipes are created and dishes are prepared. It’s always bustling with activity, with chefs moving back and forth to meet customer demands. The kitchen is divided into several zones: a cooking area with golden flames, glass cabinets for preserving cold dishes, and a preparation table for slicing meat, chopping vegetables, and arranging ingredients beautifully on plates.
Entertaining Your Guests
To enhance the dining experience, you can hire musical teams to perform on the restaurant floor. These performers can showcase musicals, noodle dances, and other acts, earning tips from delighted customers. The tips, of course, go directly to you. Your guests will vary in age and background, from elegantly dressed businesspeople to families with elderly members and groups of friends in vibrant outfits.
